1814 Commemoration Inc. Kicks Off Battle of Plattsburgh 2020 Virtual Commemoration 

Plattsburgh. NY 1814 Commemoration Inc. announces the August 23rd, 2020 launch of their new website 1814inc.com featuring the Battle of Plattsburgh 2020 Virtual Commemoration. 

The new website, designed by Bruce Carlin of Carlin Media, will feature many 30-minute videos of various Battle of Plattsburgh related events, activities, interviews, music and other 1814 related information. A new video will premiere every couple of days from August 31st - September 17th. A full schedule of video titles and release times are listed on the website. 


Mountain Lake PBS has partnered with 1814 Commemoration Inc. and will be airing two films "The Final Invasion" and "Battle of Plattsburgh Bicentennial Commemoration", along with interviews with long term committee volunteers, reenactors and historians. WIRY radio is also partnering with us to promote the event, and to broadcast interviews and music related to the 1814 battle and subsequent commemorations. On September 12th, 1814 reenactors will host a "Military Encampment Display" open to the public at Plattsburgh City Marina and on that evening the final Curbside at Harborside drive-in concert, will feature "Battle of Plattsburgh and Champlain Valley" music performed by local artists. There will also be commemoration ceremonies open to the public at various 1814 historic sites in Plattsburgh and surrounding areas on September 10th, 11th and 12th. 

On August 23rd the 1814inc.com website will open the 2020 Battle of Plattsburgh Virtual Commemoration. "Our hope is that people in our community, and beyond, will enjoy our virtual presentation and continue to follow us throughout the year" said 1814 Commemoration Inc. President, Tom Donahue. "We are hoping that after viewing this years event online, next year more people will come to Plattsburgh and experience it in person".
