1814 Commemoration Inc. secures Stewarts Foundation Grant Plattsburgh. NY
1814 Commemoration Inc. announces it has received a "Stewarts Foundation Grant" to help commemorate the Battle of Plattsburgh in a Virtual presentation.
Stewart's supports thousands of local charities annually through their foundations. uStewart's Shops" has awarded this grant to support the virtual presentation of the Battle of Plattsburgh. We are committed to growing strong communities. Together with the Dake Foundations, Stewart's Shops donates over $7 million to local non-profit organizations such as 1814 Commemoration Inc.
The " Battle of Plattsburgh 2020 Virtual Commemoration" will be presented on the 1814 Commemoration Inc. website 1814inc.com starting August 23rd.
It will feature many 30-minute videos of various Battle of Plattsburgh related events and activities, interviews, music and other 1814 related information. Mountain Lake PBS has partnered with us and will be airing two movies "The Final Invasion" and "Battle of Plattsburgh Bicentennial Commemoration", which includes interviews with long term committee volunteers.
WIRY radio is also partnering with us to promote the event, and broadcast interviews and music related to the battle. There will also be commemoration ceremonies open to the public at various 1814 historic sites in Plattsburgh and surrounding areas.
